How To Flush A Toilet Without Water
One bucket, poured fast, straight into the bowl. What it costs you in gallons and when to stop flushing entirely.
Pour one and a half to two gallons directly into the bowl, fast and in a single motion. The bowl siphons on volume and speed, not on the handle, so a poured flush works with the tank empty. Filling the tank instead wastes a gallon and gets you the same result.

Where the water comes from
Dishwater, laundry rinse, bathwater and dehumidifier catch are all fine for this. Nothing you pour into a bowl needs to be drinkable, and using drinkable water for it is the most common rationing mistake.
When to stop flushing
Below roughly three days of supply, a lined bucket with sawdust or kitty litter costs zero gallons and a flush costs two. That trade turns over faster than most people expect.
